If you are someone who enjoys a tot of different spirits, or someone keen to learn about the different production methods used in the manufacturing of Madeira sugar cane rum (Agricola) this expertly guided tour is perfect for you.

Madeiran rum gets it unique taste and flavours by being produced from freshly crushed sugar cane juice, rather than the molasses, left over from the production of sugar, used in the production of most Caribbean rum.

For starters you will begin with a rum masterclass hosted by a highly qualified Rummelier and excellent instructor.

The techniques used to smell and taste are explained and together with aroma glasses the individual flavours of the different rums can be discovered for yourself, as you are led through a tasting session where you will sample 6 different rums from a larger distillery on the north of the island.

Following this visit we will have a light lunch and then continue to the southwest coast of the Island where you will visit a small family run distillery and be introduced to their rums by the  passionate owner.

His rum has been awarded several gold awards recently and is only available in small quantities from select outlets, also 3 more samples will be provided.

All in all a very refreshing way to finish this excellent tour.
